Track the Drop

Small Actions.
Big Change.

Task

Choose ONE unnecessary water-use habit you can control, replace it with a water-saving action, and follow through on FIVE separate days.

Requirements

  • Choose ONE action: turn off the tap while brushing teeth; stop running water continuously when washing dishes; shorten an unnecessarily long shower; or avoid leaving water running while cleaning.

  • Do the action on FIVE different days during the campaign. For each day, write the date and what you did. Where practical, add a count (such as “tap turned off twice”) or a shower-duration comparison (such as “usually 8 minutes; today 6 minutes”).

  • Describe your starting habit and the change you made. Include a short reflection on which day was easiest or hardest and whether you will continue.

  • Submit ONE image with a written description (for example, a clear photo of your five-day dated tally) OR ONE video with a written description. List the FIVE dates, the action taken and any counts or time comparisons in the written description. Text-only challenge entries are not accepted.

  • Never reduce necessary drinking water, bathing or handwashing to earn points. Report leaks to an adult rather than attempting unsafe repairs.

What you need

  • A regular water-use activity

  • Notes app or sheet of paper for a five-day tally

  • Notes app or paper for a five-day tally; phone or camera for the required image or video

What we can measure

ONE chosen habit; FIVE separate days of documented action; counts or duration when applicable. Do not estimate litres saved without measuring water volume.

Deadline

Complete and submit your challenge entry in Eco-Submissions between October 12 and December 12, 2026.
